BioMat SRLS workshop Innovative Startup works on two fronts:
1) Production with selected biopolymers and search for new ones .
2) Fight against single-use plastics.
Thereplastic is a major environmental problemof our time.
Entire ecosystems are found in today serious danger due to its misuse and the poor policies applied to date for its recovery. Governments of many countries (eg SUP Directive of the European Community) and organizations such as the UN, with the 2030 agenda, have sanctioned important turning points that will help the environment to recover.
In the current transition period the activity of Officina BioMat is focused on the selection of biomaterials and their use in industrial processes. In order to be able to accelerate as much as possible the replacement of plastics deriving from non-renewable sources.
In this context it is necessary to revive "the historical approach” With the much maligned plastic. Originally, plastic was designed to produce durable, light and economical objects, replacing materials such as ceramic or glass and guaranteeing affordable prices and reusable goods. Only later did we make it the throwaway paradigm.
With this approach and in the name of sustainability, Officina BioMat promotes systems and products that are based on the reuse of objects and on the abatement of single-use plastic.
